Silence

Silence overtakes the room as your eyes lock on mine. Whatever was being said is forgotten as we find solace in the presence of each other. Was it an argument? Did we not agree on a petty subject? Were we arguing about something potentially catastrophic to our relationship? Were we discussing politics? Were you informing of the events of your day? Was I asking you about your family? Were finances the topic of conversation? Were we discussing what movie to rent? Was world peace weighing heavily on our minds? The silence continues as we move to hug each other. All arguments aside we find comfort in the arms of each other. We move to the couch and adjust until we are both comfortable. Everything else is forgotten as we enjoy the warmth of each other. A sigh escapes a set of lips as memories flood our minds. Colors and shapes become blurred as contentment sets in. Senses are on overload as joy overcomes. A peace settles in the room as comfort is expressed in silence.
